Just when I was out of cash completely the guys is SE airsoft got me
an Army 1911 full metal Pistol in good old Gangsta Rapper Gold!

This is a beauty of a pistol.
I plan on getting different grips in the distant future and possibly
changing the sights just to pimp it. (For a bit of a laugh)

    th_IMG_0766.jpg

It actually Came with a set of Real Wood Grips!
AND a spare Nozzle unit thingy,
    AND spare Hopup Rubber,
AND a plastic tool thats not needed for disassembly,
there are some other tiny tiny o-rings also,
Not sure if these are all for the Nozzle thingymebob unit
or if some are for the magazine valve.

I did not get to fire this as the mag that came with it was a Lemon!
It wont fill with gas, A tiny bit goes in but not enough to even fire one shot!
This has NOT surprised me as other Army GBB purchases resulted in
4 magazines being Lemons and and the guns not firing correctly.
Basically Army make CRAP GBB magazines!!! I will take out the valve at
the weekend to see if I can spot anything that is fixable!
(If anyone should know of other brands of mags that are compatible with the Army MEU let me know)

Externally the Metal is nice and solid
the Slide is very snug on the body
and there is very little movement.
This surprised me! and I was expecting wobble!

When you Rack the Slide the spring feels a little weak! and you don't
get the nice snappy Clack! sound like you would with other full metal pistols.

The Finish is nice, the Gold is done well, the inside of the metal is gold
too so it does not look like it will wear away quickly which it great!

There is something a little off about the finish of the metal, something a bit
roughish or just something that does not look 100% right, I just cannot
put my finger on it, or cant describe in words. I did not see any noticeable
mold lines, although near the bottom of the trigger guard you can see a round mark
where it may have been cut from the mold ? (I am guessing)
I think the metal could have done with a little polish before they painted it gold.

It has Trads! and Trads are nice and detailed and stamped in nice and deep,
serial numbers, descriptions, symbols etc all make this a nice extra.
    th_IMG_0767.jpgth_IMG_0770.jpg

The Slide release catch feels plastic and is very tight, when you take it
off the pin that goes through the body seems to be made or at least coated
with Copper! The Slide does not appear to go back on smoothly like other 1911's which is odd.

The Safety catch is Plastic, it would have been nice if it was metal.
The outer barrel is matt black and metal.
The Hammer is metal and is very light to pull back

The Trigger is superb!!! when you cock this gun and squeeze the
trigger its a smooth pull and its ever ever so light. Really nice!

    th_IMG_0772.jpgth_IMG_0775.jpg

The Back site has Novak's stamped into it
    th_IMG_0771.jpg

The Spare set of Grips are made from real wood but are very dark and
lifeless. I may sand these and re-colour/stain them. They wont fit onto
the gun unless you first remove the black bit that goes in front of the pistol
grips that forms part of the black plastic grips! (I tried leaving it on at first)
    th_IMG_0773.jpgth_IMG_0774.jpg

All in all, Great little Purchase, and am well happy with it.
Cant wait to fire it once I get a new mag or sort the valve out.

Sounds like a awesome piece, if a tad useless for camo... I wonder how far away I could see it on a Nice sunny day through my scope prior to shooting the user :P. Still... VERY NICE! If you like it and Its awesome... I wonder how she performs?

Yeah, but that would ruin the novelty of having a bling bling pistol
On another note, is it compatible with TM mags?

Not sure if they are.... Like the socom gear they are cloned from, wont take TM mags, i suspect this doesnt. My Socomgear didnt... mags are identical externally so..., but tm are WE/Socomgear/ Army mag compatable... odd way round... heh. As for the mag... bullets, try holding the nozzle into the mag for an extended period, some dont hiss when filling, just fill silently.

I love the ones that Dont Hiss!! you get that nice crisp sound as you take the can of gas away! (<sound fffsp! /sound>)

Took the mag apart and put gas through the inlet nozzle while the mag was dis-assembled so it showed that gas was getting through. Re-assembled mag tried to fill it,
but it only seems to fill enough to give 3-5 very weak feeling shots from the gun before the gas is gone.

Held the gas canister in and pushed with a fair bit of pressure for more than 30secs but no improvement.

Its totally weird as if a certain amount of gas will go in
    but somehow wont fill completely.

Anyway I wont worry about it too much Ill pick
of some Bell Mags next time I see someplace selling them.

I'd the exact same issue with my KSC M9..
I eventually solved it by holding the can upside down and this worked fine...
before that I was only getting 3-4 shots out of it...
I'm a noobie so not sure if this is the correct way anyway :D

    I knew you were joking.
As for the mag, I had the same problem with my Army Detonics. No matter how long I'd fill it for only a certain amount of gas would get in and I would only get 3-5 weak shots. Army don't know how to make gbb mags.
