    Hi All,

We are thinking of having our reception here next year and was wondering if anyone has had their receptions there previously? How was it? Was the food good? Accomadation prices etc. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Food was good, place was nice, location is amazing however I found the place lacked atmosphere. Maybe it was just me but the wedding seemed very dead.

Thanks for that kmick, glad to hear the food was good, had heard some bad things. we had been down there for a wedding fair and had a tasting and it was lovely in fairness. The staff were saying alright that they try to close off the sitting room beside the function room, because too many people can go in there and chill out and forget about the dancing etc! Maybe thats what happened in your case.

Ive played it and been at a friends wedding there.
Food was way above par, maybe that was the choices that the couple made when I had mains there as they werent short a few quid.

Room is set up right for entertainment, views are spectacular both in and out of the hotel. Thought it a bit too pricey to stay in but its only 5-6e for a cab back into clonakilty for cheaper hotels + b&bs.

I didnt see people drifting to that guest room until after the wedding both times I was there.

A bit like kmick, I reckon it has lots of great ingredients but somehow they just don't all mix together well. My sister had her's there and there was just no atmosphere and it was the most disappointing wedding of at least a dozen I've been to - unlike my other sister's riotous one in Portugal.

    good luck with your choice

I have been too a few weddings there and I would agree the atmosphere wasn't great. It was hard to put a finger on why but just wasn't great.

The food was excellent in my opinion, although there were a few people who complained about small portions.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the location is wonderful.

How many people can Inchydoney fit for a wedding/function in their function room? when i say fit i mean comforatbly and not on top of each other?

They can apparently hold 300 comfortably, that what they said when we checked anyway.

Its a really beautiful venue, but the main issue for me was the price of the rooms for guests, it's not really affordable ....

yeah very saucy, especially for us getting married there in July.:D Its very close to clonakilty though so guests will have plenty of accomadation options.

I've been there for a couple of weddings and agree that atmosphere is odd. The food was lovely and I fond there was plenty although many people complained that there were not. I know a number of guests went across the bay to Dumore House for food after the meal.

The staff were lovely in the hotel and it location is nice.

i was there for a quiet few days, loved it, but that is what it is suitable for, could not see it as a wedding venue, more a get away from all of that kind of thing, spa, food, rest,

i was there a few years ago for my aunts wedding,

the food was ok, i felt it wasn't the best but considering we were starving we ate it.

one thing ill warn you about (i dont know if it was bad organisation on my aunts part or not) but we all arrived at the hotel around 3pm and all we were served between then and 8pm (8.15pm when the starters came out really though) was pink champagne! we were so hungry we went to the members bar for crisps but they dont stock any and there is no shop locally(that we knew of)...watch out for that...

like others have said i also found it odd the atmosphere there, again i cannot put my finger on why....

oh and if you have any guests who smoke tell them wrap warm, the smoking area we had was off the main room, on a balcony facing the sea, beautiful yes, but freezing winds were blowing them out of it. staff weren't too helpful on the day either.

    hi there,
was at wedding in inchydoney on Friday. it was unreal. the service and food were fantastic. we sat for dinner at 5.30pm so no need for crisps. we had drinks reception first with lovely canapes.
Staff couldnt have been friendlier. we stayed two nights and thought the rate was good in comparision to lots of other places. they do a wedding showcase twice a year so might be worth checking that out:)

I would advise anyone to stay away from the Spa.. My Fiance and I got engaged on the beach and spent the weekend in the hotel. My Fiance had a body wrap and ended up getting burnt. We received no apoligy and was told that it was just a reaction to the products..It blistered the day after so needless to say it was not a burn..Very unprofessional service and would not return there..

I've been to Inchydoney twice. Once I thought it was fabulous. The second time the hotel looked very tired and out-dated and the weekend just wasn't that great. I didn't really enjoy the spa either the second time.

Hi All, Just thought I would follow up with our experience of Incydoney. I have to say it was absolutly fantastic from start to finish. I cant praise the staff high enough, they were friendly and professional all the way, even our wedding guests were blown away by the lengths the staff went to to ensure they had a great stay. The food was spectacular, and there was plenty of it and as for atmosphere, the dance floor was full all night and it was great craic. Some people went into the lounge area next door and more went down to the front bar but it didn't seem to make a difference. We had around 250 at the reception so I suppose with numbers like that you wont miss a few people. All in all I would highly recommend Inchdoney, based on our experience you wont regret it.
