    Anyone got an Irish date?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,534 ✭✭✭Dman001

It will more than likely be shown on the following Sunday. RTEs schedule is busy on a Monday (FlashForward) and Tuesday (Desperate Housewives and Greys Anatomy) and they wouldnt put it on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

When will Sky or RTE confirm what date they will be showing Lost?

DigitalSpy are saying Lost is back on the Friday, which I cant see happening cos it is a terrible slot to put a big series like Lost in.

Excellent, 2 days earlier, I am happy with Friday.

RTE, please show it on Thursdays !!

Plenty of discussion on the apparent Friday air date here:

No way will it be a Friday. Not unless Sky want to deliberately sabotage their own ratings. Tbh I can see it staying on the Sunday.

In other news: there's talk of the premiere getting pushed back to the 9th if Obama decides to have his state of the union on the 2nd.

I emailed RTE about their intended air date a few days ago but got no reply.

A little more info on the Obama thing:
#NoStateofUnionFeb2. That’s the hash tag meme that’s set Twitter on fire, ever since the White House announced that the two dates currently under consideration for this year’s State of the Union address are January 26th and February 2nd.

February 2nd is, of course, the scheduled premiere date for Lost’s very-long-awaited final season. Since the State of the Union address always preempts regular programming on all major networks, should President Obama choose to hold his address on February 2nd, then one guaranteed outcome of his speech is a gi-normous mob of pissed off Lost fans. Because it almost certainly would mean the premiere would be postponed by a full week.

According to Dark UFO - His contact @ Sky has confirmed that they will be showing Lost on Friday the 05.02.10...

DS are reporting that the Union address wont interfer with Lost.

    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/cult/s10/lost/news/a195057/obama-wont-bump-lost-premiere.html

    This made me laugh:
"I don't foresee a scenario in which the millions of people that hope to finally get some conclusion in Lost are pre-empted by the president," Gibbs said at a press briefing.

    :D

Very odd indeed that they would pick such a date. But then again House is on a Sunday, while Lie To Me is on a Thursday. They probably wanted to show it ASAP (which is a good idea to stop people watching it online) so picked Friday.

Very surprised Sky went with Friday. I wonder if RTE will match it...

Well staying in is the new going out, so Friday could be a good choice...

Will RTE put this out at the same time as The Late Late show?

I have emailed RTE suggesting Thursday screenings, here's hoping.

Yes, here's hoping! Thursday would be a perfect time to screen it, much better than Fridays imo. I can't see them putting it on along side TLLS & it would be unwise of them to show it after Sky One have, since most people are going to watch there or find "other" ways to view it..

But time will tell I guess, hopefully they'll listen to your email!

Just a bit more on that:

    http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2010/01/fans-rejoice-lost-defeated-the-state-of-the-union-today.html

There's an interesting quote from Matthew Fox:
Matthew Fox, who plays Dr. Jack Shepard on the show, told E! online that the show’s conclusion is “going to be very satisfying and cathartic and redemptive and beautiful.”

The season premiere will begin by answering the question as to what happened after Juliet detonated the hydrogen bomb.

"It's very surprising and probably fairly confusing initially to the audience,” Fox said. "Like, a third of the way in [to the season], I would guess we are going to [settle] into one time frame, and it will be very linear—no more flashbacks, nothing. It will be on the Island and sort of a final conflict to the end.”

Fox also said the conflict between his character and Locke "will come head to head.”
