I'm looking for a radio/cd player for my boyfriend and read your post. I just saw this on Ebay, it's called a Tivoli Model One. Search Tivoli on google/boards.ie and you'll find some glowing reviews.

From the picture at least no handle, but I remembered you mentioned silver/white
