Winter shoes for men

My feet are getting soaked/freezing cold in my tigers.

What kind of shoes can men wear in winter that will keep my feet warm and dry? Looking towards boots I suppose, but never bought a pair so it could easily go horribly wrong...!

They need to be casual, too. Worn with jeans, t-shirts etc.

    Cheers :)

Concider a good pair of hiking boots. Go to a reputable outdoors outlet and get fitted. They'll keep you warm, dry and comfortable for years (if looked after properly). Available in a multitude of styles from the trainer type to the nice chestnut brown leather ones. Buy the best you can afford and don't go for the hightstreet name brands (like Catterpiller or Hitek).

Ahhh Old Goat why not Caterpillar ones. 3 lads I buy boots for and they love them!!

Word of advice you will be robbed on buying CAT boots here so head on down to the shoe shops, try them on (Schuh have all the main CAT styles at the mo), get the style names & order them online from the UK you'll get them half the price.

Do not buy Timberland boots tho! The soles are only glued on & fall off after a while, the CAT soles are stitched on & they last for ages!!

I had the same problem. There is nothing worse than walking around in wet feet all day. I bought a pair of Clark's gore-tex boots a month ago. I used to buy Ecco but the quality of them is really really bad now. The sole lasts about six months before cracking open.

I am happy with the Clarks boots so far. They look more casual than hiking or work boots.

CATs and timbeland are just highstreet fashion designed to look like a working or a hikeing boot and neither (in my experience) last or perform well. They may look pretty but thats as far as they go. I'd not wear them on a building site nor up a mountain. However, for close to the same price you can get a superbly well made pair of hiking boots that will perform better, last longer and be more comfortable.

Meindl or Lowa are great brands which can be a bit pricey but well worth the little extra.
