Not sure where to post this...

My boyfriend's high-vis jacket got dirt on it, and after putting it through the washing machine, it hasn't come off. I presume it's because of the material or something.

Anyone any ideas how to get it off?

what did he get on it, should it be asked o.0.
usually you can just wipe of most dirt.

did you try and of the stain remover type things ?
read up what kind of stains the remover does, and match to what you have (oil-based or water-based)

It was it the boot of a car which might suggest it's a kind of oil-substance. It doesn't seem to budge when I wipe it.

I don't have any decent stain removers in the house, I'll have to go to the shops tomorrow I guess

I have a vague recollection of seeing Kim and Aggie cleaning a high vis by wetting it and then using a bar of soap directly on it.

Yep soap or fairy liqiuid or any kind of a de greaser you have in the kitchen will work and scrub the fabric off itself using your hands. You may have to do that a few times and it should come up clean. Pain in the butt to clean them things. Think I just used to use fairy liquid or dettol de-greaser on em and let it soak in for a bit before giving it a good scrub

Ahhh it's the Lidl W5 Kitchen de-greaser spray (in an orange bottle) or swarfegga hand wash gel I used to clean them with, they are both brill at getting oil and grease off things!!!
