Do I have to bring my Social Services card to post office?

    Got a letter today telling me my JB can be picked up at post office tomorrow, it's my first time picking it up and is backdated. Problem is I've lost the card with my PPS number on it, can I still pick it up if I bring I.D. and the letter from Social Welfare?

    go to the social welfare office, they will send off for a new card for you. They will also write out on a yellow piece of card all your information that you need. You just keep this with you till you get your card in the post.

    I know this is a bit late, but you can get your money from the Post Office with a PPS number. You don't need the card. At least I didn't.


    When I first went on Welfare, I didn't have a card, so i just recited my PPS number each week for about two months, until my card arrived. I'd say you'd have been fine.

    Thanks for the replies, I got sorted on Thursday and meant to post then. I went to SW office and they gave me a piece of paper for post office (I'm new in the area so they wouldn't know me!!).
