My hairs quite dry due to years of home dyes ad straightening everyday, what can i do to relieve this?
I dont think i could stop straightening it

Why not try using a hair masque twice a week?

My hair is bleached and I straighten and blow dry and backcomb it all the time but it's still in really good condition, I put it down to using L'Oreal Professional Force Vector Shampoo + masque (you can get them in Toni &Guy and the 2 together are around €28)

Also try 10 ml of coconut oil massage into the scalp + left on overnight.

    Hope this helps!

Stop using shampoo and conditioners containing silicones, learn how to blow dry your hair so you don't need to straighten your hair, get a few inches off your hair and use a hair masque/deep conditioner once a week.

Just wondering about the silicones...its not something I check my shampoos for. Can you say off your head which are the worst offenders? I use kerastase shampoos but not sure if they contain silcone.

    Thanks

    I think Kerastase does, yes.

Look on the ingredients list for 'dimethicone' to check if it contains silicone.
Kiehl's, burt's bees and Lush solid shampoos don't contain silicone. And I think herbal essences but not 100% sure.

What about olive oil treatments? Use extra virgin olive oil to coat the bottom half and wrap in cling film and leave for a half hour or so.

    +1

Definitely on the blow dry. I got myself a decent hair dryer from Peter Marks, and a decent brush two years ago and I've used my GHD maybe twice in all that time. People are always asking me did I get my hair done. You just need a bit of practice. And my hair is naturally very dry and frizzy so it can be done!
