Price of train to Dublin no longer a tenner?

    Jut checking this out because even though the Advertiser last week ran the ad for the e10 one way trains, and it is still posted on their website, the 'terms and conditions' that seem to apply is that it expired on November 28th.... anyone know if there us any way of getting the cheapo fare or am I back to paying a fortune?

    The info on the Irish Rail website is really misleading! On the main page, they still mention the Galway-Dublin route as part of the promotional web fares offer; however, if you click on a link in the 'General News' on the same page (Heading is 'Now Extended until 31st December....), the Galway-Dublin route isn't specifically mentioned. I'm guessing it is part of the offer still - did a quick check on fares for Thursday leaving Galway and the web fares for an adult are a tenner up until the 1305 train (but not including it), and it's 25 yoyo one way after that. I imagine it's the usual early trains to and from Galway, and the last train from Dublin Monday thru Thursday. No fear of a cheapo fair at the weekend!

    Yeah, 27yoyos up and down tomorrow but have to get 14:30 back from Heuston or it's an extra tenner after that.

    The website is a f**king balls.

    Haven't checked their website, but all the local papers lately have Irish Rail adds saying that their schedule was changing from November 29th onwards.

    And their main tagline was "Now with more trains than ever before".

    So maybe the cheap fares are gone, and we're now paying for the priviledge of having the "more trains than ever before"?

    hey,
    They still have the tenner one way fares but you have to be really, really flexible! Friday seems to be a non tenner day! I am booking Saturday returning Monday and it is 20euro return...

    Think I may use Go bus anyway though as way more choice and at least you can take whatever bus you fancy - always a chance for a late pint:)
