Rover P6; Quick Question

    I'm trying to locate a Half-shaft for a P6B (The one with the V8!:D).

I've been offered one from a Rover 2000.

Would this, or one from a 2200 fit & more importantly would it be 'man' enough for the job?

    Thanks in advance.:)

Yes, it should fit. Why do you need to change it though? Is the half-shaft unserviceable? It's usually the u-joint that will let go on them, and that should be replaceable....

Yeah, I know that, but I was given the option of changing the whole unit for free, as above.

    That's why I was asking.

Changing the UJ alone might involve a bit more work.

    I'm a lazy bugger really.:D:D:D

Well, if you've to have it pulled apart anyway to swap the shaft, you might as well take the replacement you're being offered and have new UJ's fitted to it in preparation for the swap (so you know they're good, instead of fitting a secondhand shaft where the UJ's are likely well worn), then keep the one you take out for the next time one of them needs sorting.
