Roundwood GC Membership 2010

Got a mail from my playing buddy in Roundwood on their membership offer for 2010.
I thought the idea of existing members, potentially, playing for free if they bring in 4 new members is a great incentive to bring in new blood!
Also, the reduced annual subs combined with no joining fee makes it quite attractive - I might just give it a go!!
A quote from the email:
" In difficult economic times we have ambitious plans to grow our membership numbers.

Existing members will now enjoy a double benefit : a highly competitive Annual Sub, combined with an attractive incentive to introduce new members to the club.

·The 2010 Annual Sub will be € 1,150. *

·For each new member introduced by an existing member, the existing member’s Annual Sub will be reduced by € 250.

‘ On behalf of the Men’s Committee, please give this initiative your fullest support. It is in the interests of both Owners and Members to grow our membership. Do not leave this to others. We have a superb golf course. With the greater numbers we can accommodate we will see reinvestment and development of the course and facilities and build a stronger more vibrant club ‘

Thoughts???

That’s a proactive approach to cope with the tough times. Nice to see existing members benefit from these new members they introduce, I think that’s a nice touch and great incentive.

Too many golf clubs with too high costs scrambling for too few members. Its the law of the jungle in action - be the one to survive, even if its at the expense of others!
