UHF Re-transmission Licenses: final expiry date now 31 December 2012.

    The final expiry date of UHF re-transmission licenses has now been extended until 31 December 2012 according to SI. 445 (2009).

    See page 5, "Duration and renewal of licenses", section 6 (4).

    Reading between the lines, it wouldn't give you confidence in a firm date being announced for the launch of DTT here. Thoughts?

    EDIT: On page 8, "Interference", Section 10 (3) the following is stated:
    Where a Licensee is licensed to retransmit Licensed Programme Services, on any radio spectrum frequency channel in either the reserved or non-reserved spectrum, and such retransmission causes, or may cause, interference with transmissions of DTT, then the Commission may suspend, revoke or vary his or her Licence.

    I'm guessing deflectors can be forced to close, when or if DTT goes ahead under this part of the SI.
