Ive heard someone reply to the question "How do we cope with the ever increasing world population?".The man replied "what we need is a good war!".This really struck a cord with me.Over the last few centuries there were thousands/millions of people dying in wars of all sorts most notably ww1 and ww2.With peak oil coming to an end and co2 emmissions getting larger would a ww3 really solve the problem easier then what all these pollotitions and experts come up with?
p.s.I would not be in favour of a war!

Probably a lot cheaper and less CO2 if we just had a little genocide. I'm sure the US will fund one soon.

A random pointless war.... where the young with lives still ahead of them fight and the old who have lived their lives already making the orders.

Not something I ever want to ever see.

Considering a ww3 would most likly go nuclear at some point I don't think CO2 would be much of a problem afterwards.

Can't we just tell everyone the world is going to end, build a big ship and blast all the telephone sanitation officers and hairdressers off in that while the rest of us stay behind and live happily ever after?

Until we all die from a virus picked up from a dirty telephone that is.

    Yep, let's have a war.
We can pause fighting on Christmas day for a game of footy in "no mans land".............. until one of the french cunts handles the ball and it all kicks off again.

It's being handled as we speak, The Lisbon Treaty will be a big threat to countries outside of it. With all the troops of the EU combined they will War of Attrition anyone who gets in their way. Hereby solving global warming.
I call it the final solution.

I think the world is too overpopulated at the moment. A war is more likely due to overpopulation as there is more competition for resources, living space etc. Famines and epidemics are more likely as well. Nature often cuts down the numbers of any species that becomes to numerous after a while anyway.

War never solved anything... except over-population, slavery, genocide, Fascism, Nazism, Communism...

    Right, well thats decided!
The remaining question is, who's backyard are we going to have it in?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,739 ✭✭✭✭minidazzler

There will never be another great war that kills millions of Europeans or Americans.

The Internet is too strong so Propaganda won't work.

It is basically impossible....who would do the fighting?

Have it in mine, I have a little net for playing badminton and some racquets if we get tired of killing each other.

Isn't there usually an economic upturn after wars? Construction will go crazy repairing all the damage done and people will start breeding like mad. When ever you attack a biological system it repairs and is twice as strong afterwards. War would only temporally solve the problem and make it worse in the long run as those warring nations would more than likely be trading partners afterwards breaking down any barriers that may have slowed their economy's.

I'd offer my backyard but I discovered oil there.
I'm expecting the Americans to invade soon then saying I have WMD's!

True, but there will not be a war on our turf TBH.

That's what you get for boasting about your discovery on a message board.

That’s why I said genocide, you don’t have to help them if there's none left and you get all their land :)

Our turf is now Europe though. If Europe was engaged in a proper war where Europe was being invaded we'd be involved, at the very least in rebuilding afterwards.

It's all about insurgency now, there will be no war like WW2 again. Just terrorism and such.

The only people who could threaten Europe are the Russians, but it's unlikely they will TBH.

Russia and China and the likes of North Korea and Iran would be capable of causing another war if they are not careful. Russia and China are both powerful but are on relatively good terms with the rest of the world but the likes of North Korea and Iran are seemingly completely ignoring the rest of the world.

If the DPRK cause a war it will be on their turf, same with Iran.

Russia have the Capability and Proximity to move on Europe and China could Drop bombs but not really move on Europe, Maybe America.

If the Russians and the Chinese were to team up, Europe and American would lose...... badly.

Then Nukes would be pulled out, and we would all be fcuked.

The theory goes that war will become less and less prevalent as time goes on. As societies grow less violent, war becomes less and less likely. The sort of individual attracted to actively fighting wars (not just soldiering) is more likely to be killed in action before reproducing their DNA. Those with violent tendencies and borderline psychotic conditions are more likely to die due to risk-taking activities.

Ideally, if we could round up the remaining violent idiots and have them fight a war, society would be the better for it.

I'd say with religion slowly dieing out, people will be less likely to fight for a cause. People believed they were going to the afterlife and so by sacrificing themselves, they'll be rewarded. Nowadays people are far less likely to believe that. Personally I would never fight in a war. Why would I?

If they want to cull the herd in Ireland then they'll probably start with AH.
Ah well. At least we'll die doing what we love. With our pants around our ankles.

I agreed with the first part of your post. The bit I quoted I don't.

It is a fact that there are too many people in the world. No Wars means we are gonna end up with Soylent Green one day!

A Few people are commenting on Europe being involved in a war as regards the aul Lisbon Treaty.

But would you rather all of Europe gets riddled and we're left facing Russia/China etc.. alone or add another 50,000 (after wartime conscription obviously) to the mix and maybe stand a chance.

I'd hate to see a war. Honestly I would. One of the most pointless things man has even engaged in as they're usually reversed after a while.... but I think I'd fight or something :/

Oh yes because WW1 and WW2 was started because of religious differences

There has not been a major religious war for centuries so tbh your just trying to take a dig at religion for some reason.

That was me. Nothing like a good war to unite the world whilst doing away with half the population and increasing the female population.

Chances are, in the next war, you'll have 3 mins to decide what you're going to do when it happens.

In the words of Albert Einstein "I don't know what WW3 will be fought with, but I do know WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones."

Basically, when WW3 does eventually happen, if nukes still exist one country will deem it "fit" to use them breaking all rules of war and we'll kill ourselves through nuclear warfare.

Nope, but there is a couple of good quotes on that game. It's quote used quite often, first time I read was in a book detailing modern weapons that could potentially be used WW3 so it's pretty fitting.
