Dynamo HP Test

    Hello,
Can someone tell me how to interpret these results from a dyno test.
    I have the printout attached!

I can see that the PTO is 124.6HP but then theres a max power of 125.9!

Is the engine dyno result in this oR do I just add about 20 HP to the 125 pto HP result to get the engine HP?

    Thanks!

All the dynamometer measures is PTO power, so that's what your 3 figures are.The test was carried out at set engine revs with the PTO turning at 1058rpm, your tractor was putting out 120.6hp at that speed. At 1000rpm on the PTO it was putting out 124.6hp as the load started to come on, and the maximum power of 125.9hp was recorded at 939rpm on the PTO as the load increased further and the revs were falling back. The figure you want is the rated HP, which is the maximum that can be delivered under normal continuous use. There's no exact way of measuring engine HP from the PTO results but on average you would lose about 12-15% of engine power by the time you get to the PTO, so a tractor with 120HP on the PTO would have an engine HP of around 135-140.

The torque fades away a lot with the revs doesn't it. This is normal I know, just taught it would be less.

What make / year of tractor is it?
Also what was the reason for the test, a tractor you're thinking of buying?

    Pakalasa,
Its a TM120 classic New Holland 07' with just under 2000 hrs.

I got it tested as I was curious if the previous owner tampered with the fuel pump. Ive read stories of tractors that have been turned up which eventually cause other problems to the transmission etc.
    Peace of mind I suppose!
