The prices are low because they take the rest of of the fee the camp pays them for sourcing you to work for them. You'll find when you arrive at camp you get paid a lot less than comparable employees from the US. Camp Leaders take their fee and some and leave you with the rest. Good for the experience but don't see it as a huge money maker..

Your best bet is to go through the camp itself, where possible.
I went through my camp and they sponsored my visa and I got the same salary package as the americans. The only thing is, they did deduct a little over $300 for the cost of the visa, however, my travel stipend was $300 more than the americans got. So overall I walked away with $1100 more than the people who went through agencies.

If you're going you need to apply sharpish. Most camps have a lot of contracts already send out and returned to them at this point.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, by going through the camp itself I could book my own flights, paid absolutely NOTHING other than the Embassy Fee in advance (unlike agencies who charge admin costs and stuff like that) and my employer provided me with insurance that worked out much cheaper than the people who went through the agencies. I seriously recommend a DIY job on the summer camp thing. Agencies will rip you off and they also did one of my friends out of a lot of money.

Miss no stars do you mind me asking what camp you worked with? Or how you got in contact with them?
