Just wondering how does one go about getting involved with it? Has anyone on here ever written for it before?

Nope. I hope to be though! Although my real name is similar to Byron.

Oooh I wonder what it could be :p I think you just email them in what you're thinking of doing? Probably helps to know someone already involved though...

See i'm not really a reviews kind of guy. I'm more of a political and/or general editorial kind of guy. Basically i'm too opinionated for my own good. Plus I think the paper is rather lacking. I mean in this week's edition, which I was reading this morning, it has 3 articles (if I remember correctly) about the flooding. Surely there's no need for that many articles by 3 separate people.

Yes. However, all of the articles had pretty much the same general content i.e flooding, students without homes, lots of damage etc. It's not as if any of the articles were adding anything else to what had already been said by the previous ones.

Well you can still email them whatever you're thinking of writing about, there's generally an opinion piece or two in there anyway isn't there?

Yeah a lot of that goes on in it, it's like they theme the issues sometimes or something

I wrote for it once. Did an interview with a local band "The Idle Hour". I would have loved to keep doing it but college commitments coupled with illness conspired against me. :(
Just drop them an email and they'll get back to you.

Write up and send in. I went through phases in my 1st/2nd years of emailing them in stuff 2 or 3 times a week. They're always looking for articles really. Might even push them online, something needs to at this rate.

Well I emailed them asking if there was anything available regarding a writing or photography position so here's hoping.

Not quite National Enquirer.......more National Lampoon's Animal House..and def not 'Hello' .......what'd the Cork equiv be? ..... 'Hey bie'? but more News International.........in fact....there's an idea.......set up a rival newspaper......1st edition headline.......'Michael Murphy ate my hampster!' :D OMG the fun you could have!

Let's set up a rival paper so.

This would have been easier last year with the free printing but I bet we can do it.

We could host it on the internet!

    Who is with me??

    You serious?

If its at all subversive, the uni authorities will kill themselves trying to find out who's behind it,so you'd have to be careful, but web 2.0 is def the way to go cause eventually you might be able to commercialise it to cover costs.

PM me if you are serious :D
