    Hi all,

Horrible Christmas shopping to do, want to get some Benefit stuff for my little sister. I know she loves Benefit but no idea what she has so I figured I'd just get her say the top 10 things and I need your help! I was thinking

    1)Bad gal mascara

    2)Coralista blush

    3)Posie tint

Any other ideas? She lives in london so I can't raid her make up case to check, I figure worst case I'll end up getting her some doubles which she can use later.

    Cheers!

The Realness of Concealness kit has a few different things in it, Lip Plumping primer, Ooh la la lift (under eye de-puffer) Bo-ing concealer (great stuff, covers a multitute of disasters :o) Lemonade (skin tone neutralizer stuff, I use it under my eyes as a highlighter) and Highbeam.. I think it's great value..

Also the Big Beautiful Eyes pallet has a gorgeous shimmery base and 2 other browny shades, great for a smokey eye.. this also comes with a little tray of the Boing concealer.. and a grand little brush.. :)

All the blushers are really good quality, my favourite is the Dallas one, really makes your cheek bones pop if you use it right..

Miss Popularity shimmery highlighter, this makes a great hightlighter for the crest of your eyebrows, gives a very glam effect..

Great present idea btw.. I wish you were my sister ;)

Wow OP thats a great present!

I love Hoola Bronzer, High Beam and the Big Beautiful Eyes set

The blushers are lovely, especially Dandeloin or Coralista!

If you are buying, get them to put all the stuff in a hamper for you..they did that for me before!

    Lovely present idea, OP :)

I agree with whoever mentioned High Beam, it's a great product and I think it's something that everyone would like and could put to use.

Benefit also do some cool wee kits, things for doing the perfect smoky eye etc. Think they're great ideas for presents.

You could also ask the girl on the counter what their best sellers are to give you an idea on what people like and buy overall from Benefit.

I'd definitely go for high beam or moon beam, love them!

Benetint is great but not sure if it's everyone's cup of tea.

Erase paste is a terrific concealer too.

high beam! definately. or also one of their box-o-powders. any colour would be good as they are all lovely. i have dallas since january and i use it all the time and i am not even near finished with it. i wouldnt reccomend that concealer box set. havent heard great things about it to be honest. my friend has it and only liked one product out of it. so a waste really. Bene-tint is good too as it can be used on the cheeks or lips. also their tinted moisturisers are quite nice too....

    I love benetint.

Thank you everyone for all the advice :) Especially the nice things. So the list is:

    Bad Gal Mascara

    Benetint

    High beam

    Erase Paste

    Ooh la la lift

    Miss Popularity

    Posie Tint

    Celubutante Set

    Smokin' Eyes Set

one of the blushers, I know everyone says dallas but she's super pale so would it be too much?

    And how about:

Benefit Bathina Body So Fine Body Shimmer? Thought it might be a nice addition.

Am I missing anything crucial? I figure that covers pretty much everything, I don't want to get her foundation as she has gorgeous skin and is at the age (15) where she piles on the foundation and it's so wrong!

I'm extraordinarily pale and I use both Dallas and Coralista and find that both work really well and am always very happy with the effect they give.

    Fabulous Christmas present btw;)

All the blushes are really good. I've got really pale skin, and I find that Dandelion really suits me and looks really natural, however, if she's anyway sallow, it'll probably do nothing at all for her (as in, it will probably just be invisible!). I also like 10, for highlighting/mild contouring, as opposed to as a blush :)

I wouldn't recommend the BadGal mascara - find it a bit hit and miss, and more often than not, a miss. However the BadGal eyeliner (Something to that effect. It's pink, anyway, and probably near the BadGal mascara!) is pretty good!

I ADORE the Big Beautiful Eyes palette, and constantly have one. They also have a black/grey smoky eyes palette called Smokin' Eyes or something, which I haven't tried but is supposed to be pretty good, too.

I wouldn't really recommend any of their foundations - usually the shade range is pretty limited, and there are far better products out there.

EDIT: Sorry, somehow missed your last post, so ignore the bits about sallow skin and foundation! :P

Gosh that's gonna be such a nice present! Yeah the body shimmer would be lovely it's something she probably wouldn't buy herself!

Badgal isn't great IMO, there are much better mascara's out there.
Benetint is great as you can use it for cheeks and lips, Posietint is lovely too.
Highbeam is lovely on teenage skin, I put some on my sister (14) and it looks really pretty. Benefits blush's are generally very nice too, as are the eyelines with the blending sponge on the other end.

If you're willing to splash out, Benefit also have really cute retro make up bags, I got a really cool vanity/make up case for my birthday, fits all my make up stash!

Make sure they wrap it up nicely for you!

Also Arnotts is 10% off all cosmetics at the moment - I think - and if they're not, they do 10% student discount in the Jervis one!

Meant to say, if you want to get her foundation, go to MAC and get the tinted moisturiser/foundation there, it's in a white tube.
My little sister is super pale, and the lightest shade is so nice on her, really natural, doesn't look like she's wearing make up at all, just even out her complexion. Benefit foundations can be a bit heavy IMO, You Rebel is so dark!!

    +1 for Coralista!! It's amazing
Erase paste is also very good.

I have their powder, Hello Flawless. It's quite good but it is very light and requires a few re-applications.

i love there blushs esp coralista, they have such a lovely scent . playstick in jax is the only foundation that is the right shade for me iv got the palest skin ever

I didn't think Bad Gal was that great either. It got very clumpy after only a few weeks of using it.

Definatly love Coralista, that is fantastic stuff. But the box has gotten a bit battered in my make up bag.

My fave of the Benefit stuff is Some Kind a Gorgeous. Its the nicest light foundation I've ever used. Its perfect for day time use. Gives really nice even coverage, but not heavy at all. I love the stuff. And the compact is really cool looking too, and has a mirror inbuilt in the lid.

If you want to get her to stop plastering on the foundation get her You Rebel Lite by Benefit. Its a tinted moisturiser with SPF15. It was recommeded to me by the girl on the Benefit counter in BT's and I can't imagine life now without it. It should be perfect for your sister as I've got very pale skin and it gives you a nice healthy glow.

I also didn't like the bad girl mascara, it is way too clumpy and has a big awkward clunky brush, so it's very hard to put a small amount of mascara on. Especially since she is so young, I would skip that.

I love the Dr Feelgood, it is a balm that you can wear on it's own or over makeup. It's lovely on it's own as it gives a lovely matt soft finish. If she has good skin, it could even suffice instead of foundation. I use it as a base for under my makeup, it gives a lovely smooth finish and my makeup lasts forever without touch up when I use it.

Lovely gift, your sis is lucky to have such a good big sister!

Hi all, thanks so so much for all the replies, I love the sound of You Rebel Lite, that would be perfect for her. Anything but orange! Unfortunately I've order the stuff already, but hey there's always her birthday!

In the end I got her:

    Erase paste
    High beam
    Powderflage
    Coralista
    Body so fine
    Posietint
    Smokin eyes set
    Valley of the stars set

Fingers crossed she likes them all, I'll update the thread at Christmas :)
