O2 and Three are not comparable services.

I'm in the same boat at the moment UPC are laying the new cables in my area, so in the meantime I was thinking of getting either 3 BB or o2 BB mainly for playing games online not interested in downloading over these connections.

guil what are you using at the moment?

    Take you are using
    Broadband for Multiple Users
Price Plan Monthly Subscription Data Usage Allowance Additional usage Router Once Off Charge
    Broadband for Multiple Users €79.00 30GB 1.6cent a MB €304.96

Really don't fancy paying €304 as I will only be using it for about 9 weeks... :(

Just a word of warning. With my 3 broadband modem i could only get NAT type 3 which will really restrict online play.

I recently signed up with Meteor and tried that for playing online games and got NAT type 2.

I don't know how O2 matches up in this area but 3 isn't the best for playing online.

it cost me €20 for the modem and €20 a month over an 18 month contract with a 15gb cap

theres also a payg option, i think its €70 for the modem and then €3 or €4 per day or ya can pay € for a months use with i think 7.5gb cap

hi all. have one of these on test for 14 days with a view getting shot of costly phone line. can't tell you what is does for gamers but for basic internet and mutiple users I am so far impressed. 2 laptops, plus iphone no problem. average speed test where i live is between 1-2 mb's...a little slower that the fixed line, but then again less than half the price..3's tariff is 19.99 a month.

the beauty then it that it is completely portable of course!!

so far so good...anyone else got one??
