    Hi,

I got a second hand car - and it was fitted with a Parrot CK3100 LCD handsfree kit.

This is NOT working. (I knew at the time of purchase)
i.e. pressing the central button - does nothing - it never powers up.

Are there any quick things I can check before bringing it to an official installer?

Any technical info / FAQs / User Guides available?

    Thanks

    Sounds like it's knackered :(

Happens to the CK3100 occasionally - new screen part is the only solution I've heard of.

It may just not be getting power though. I think the wiring diagrams are available on www.parrot.biz

    Thanks R.O.R.

If I bring it to an official installer (in Waterford area) - presume it may be fixable?

Or if worst comes to the worst - what kind of money would I be looking to get a replacement?

Finally - if its knackered and a replacement is required , has the CK3100 become outdated - should I bite the bullet and get a latest model? What latest Parrot models are recommended?

Any that we have with the same problem are replaced, don't know if there is a repair.

Is there a wire going directly in to the back of the screen unit, or can it be unclipped? If you have to replace the unit then you'll probably need to buy the whole kit just for that part.

I wouldn't bother with the 3200 kit - that's even more unreliable than the 3100. I've heard good things about the 9200 kit which will stream music too, but never seen or used one. Some of the lads on here have them fitted.

I would have a look at the wiring before bringing it to an installer. Depending on the car, it can require a big ball of adapters and wires behind the radio, and one of them could just be pinched.
