The older model without the video camera and radio.....oh well could still be a bargain

nice, read thru the specs there, no mention of it being the latest generation? ie the one has a camera built in.

Yeah, the comments on the Boffer forum seem to indicate it's the fourth generation model alright, not the newest model.

5th Gen is £125 on amazon with free shipping, is £92 really all that much of a bargain for the old model?

Yes it is a bargain cause id say the camera is shíte and you have a better one on your phone. Do you really need a camera on your iPod?

So it's a bargain if you're offered an 8gb ipod for cheaper than a 16gb ipod, because your PC will have lots of space and sure who really needs the extra space on an ipod?

The 5th generation has more features, they cost more. If you don't need them, you buy something else. Doesn't automatically mean anything cheaper without the features is a bargain.

Hence why boffer are flogging off 4th gen for £92 :)

It's not a bad deal, but I don't see how it's a brilliant bargain either?

the new one also has a radio, which is quite a bonus over the last gen, I'm sure a lot of people will find this good value though, if playing mp3's is the main reason for buying.

It's up to £100 when I put it in my basket.

Bought my sister a brand new 5th gen 16gb Nano off Amazon for £131.43 with free shipping(Would be £125 if they weren't registered for irish Vat).

Thats not a very good example. Since its about 50 quid cheaper than it was a few months ago I'd say its a bargain. Radio is a good feature tho.

Any example is a good example.

Arguing that a product is a bargain because it's cheaper than another product it has less features than is an obvious fallacy, unless you can buy these features after and add them on after to compare true like with like.

Also saying it's £50 cheaper than it used to be, ergo it's a bargain is another fallacy.

If it's £50 cheaper than it used to be, it means the 5th Gen is launching at cheaper than the 4th Gen was a few months ago.

A 23% discount for the older model, with less features and in only one colour = to my mind, does not a bargain make. I'd be tempted at £92, but at £100 there's just no point.

Christ, alright alright. We will agree to disagree. I suppose a bargain is different for some people.
