Easiest because the adapter comes with the laptop:

Laptop -> Mini Displayport or DVI adapter (depending on MBP model) -> VGA in

You get either a mini displayport to HDMI (if you have a unibody MacBook Pros) adapter or a DVI to HDMI adapter (if you have one of the older MacBook Pros) and then use a standard HDMI cable to the TV. You'll need additional cables for sound though, depending on if your TV has suitable connections, you want to use speakers or a separate amplifier/decoder...
