Ford Key remote control

    Hi,

I damaged my original remote controlo unit a while back. The key still worked mechanically but I've been on the look out for a cheap fix for it the last few months.

Just bought a 2nd hand remote control unit and programmed it to work with my car. It works fine but when I tried putting my key blade with the new key fob unit the immobiliser is stopping the car from starting.

Is there a way around this without having to go to Ford? If I do have to go to them how much am I looking at paying?

    Thanks!

    It's a 2002 Ford Focus 1.4 l petrol.

I have the main key (don't think its the master as there's no blue square on it), and I can get access to the plastic backup key if needed.

If you had two or more programmed keys you could of done the programming yourself so unfortuantley you will have to go to a Ford dealer
