They offer it as a service because if it gets caught in customs, they won't suffer the consequences - you will.

The very least that could happen is the package will be seized and disposed of. You could also be fined.

There's a slight problem if they cop on to under declaring items...for example, if a brand new PS3 was declared at €100, they'd look at it and say "Hmmm...I don't believe it for a second" and can charge you import tax to the value of the same item in Ireland i.e. you'd be taxed as if the item was bought in ireland. Now, normally if this happens to you, you can just show them your copy of the invoice and payment receipt, but if it doesn't match the declaration then there could be trouble

Just to add to this question, I remember that there was an issue with RSOV shipments via TNT coming via France being siezed by customs.

I'm thinking of buying a Silver Tercel 1911 from RSOV and some accessories and was wondering if TNT shipments (cheaper than UPS?) are still in danger of being siezed by French customs? Any recent experience out there?

Got a few tm pistols via TNT a few monts ago and they went through belgium and not France. I think the problem (if I remember correctly) was china knock offs being stopped as being 'fake' as cybergun (a French company) rebraned the same china knock offs thus making the cybergun illegal copies of a Japanesse company legit and same stuff from the same chinesse manufacturer illegal. A good enough reason to send Sean Bean back over there to sort them out again, bloody Frenchies!

Ordered a CQC-type holster& thigh-rig from RSOV on 20th Nov and it arrived this morning with my friendly neighbourhood postman (registered post). Value of the package was $23.49 but they had written $10 on the customs declaration. Strangly under 'Description of goods' they had written 'modeling & accessories' - customs probably figured it was my makeup....:pac:

It's a good time to buy from them the moment if you need small bits - they have a discount thing going on plus free airmail if the package is under .25k. I have a 'Troy' style silencer on the way for $14!!:)
