On JSB and about to start a job one day a week - when to tell SW?

Hey all, got a job one day a week that starts Thursday. I was planning to go in tomorrow morning to explain (after I've collected this weeks payment), being aware (hopefully correctly?) that I will continue to get my JSB minus 1/6 of it as I will be working one day a week.

Our sewer pump gave up the ghost yesterday and I simply could not fix it, so I have a guy coming tomorrow morning to install a new one and kind of have to be here to make it go smoothly (only one in house with technical know how etc). Only problem is to my knowledge the Cork social welfare office only opens 9-12.00 for the "Enquiries" section, which is where I need to go I think, and the plumber will be coming sometime in the morning (can't give me a definate time of course).

Does it matter if I got into them Friday (after first day of work) does anyone know? Or if I came into the office tomorrow evening and just went up to any old desk? I also won't know my hours until Thursday though I don't think this matters, right? I mean if I even work one hour on a given day I lose payment for that day?
