    Hi,

I'm having difficulties with VMWare. I can't access an external hard drive connected to the host PC.
When I connect an external drive I get a message saying "The following devices can be connected to this virtual machine using the status bar or chosing VM>Removable devices". When I connect using this method, the drive is disconnected from the host PC, the symbol in the status bar on the virtual PC becomes active and tells me I'm connected but I still cant see the drive in my computer / windows explorer etc..
The external drive works fine on the host PC.
I am able to connect to other external devices from with the virtual machine using the above method (including DVD drive).
Running WinXP Pro on host and virtual.
    VMware workstation version 6.5.1

    Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
