Just a heads up for all the PSPgo owners, SCEE have announced on their blog that there is a new PSPgo promotion running from now until the 10th of January whereby you get a code for a game - either GT PSP, Motorstorm Artic Edge or Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines. This applies to new PSPgo owners and existing owners.

So yay another free game for all 5 of us! :D

Motorstorm PSP is really good. It's a great entry to the Motorstorm series (feels like the PS3 games to me), it has 8 player online races, great tracks and custom soundtracks. I think a demo was released for it last week on the store so you should check that out. I'm always playing it on the bus on the way in to work.

I'll be picking up Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines because I already own the other games, although it was on my radar. I'm playing Assassin's Creed on the 360 at the moment so this should tide me over until I can get AC2.

Sony Europe are sure showing the US and Japan how you support PSPgo owners, if only the EU PSN store had more content and coherent pricing. :pac:

Nice offer, although I just bought a new memory stick for my PSP-2000 because of all the content going up on PSN these days - I don't quite use my PSP enough to warrant the upgrade yet. But AC:B looks interesting. Just finished 2 and there are a lot of big story hints I'd like to see expanded on in prequels, sequels etc...

Anyway, once the PSN has most available games on it (it is already getting there - I'm delighted to see Disgaea on there as I've been meaning to play that for years, so will be downloaded soon!) I'll consider upgrading to the Go.

So if someone bought a PSP go today, would they still get five free games or have some of those offers expired?

Well the original gran turismo offer is over, but I did see HMV doing their own offer that you get it free with the console, not sure if it's still on tho.The rewards scheme for 3 games is still on till the end of march if you owned a psp before ( technically you can use a friends psp to do this ). So you would get 4 free games atm

Nah, i think Japan are showing the rest how to support PSPgo owners by having the games cheaper then retail and on same day release.

Very tempting and a nice offer for early adopters but I still think it's too expensive for me. At €179, I'd be there but I still can't justify it when I already have a PSP.

You can't, I'm saying that I'd pay €179 for it.

I think that if you already have a PSP, I would only get a PSPgo if the PSP was one of your favourite platforms to play games on. I now own about 40-50 PSP games (including minis and PSN only games) so clearly I love the platform and the games made for it. The PSPgo was always going to be an easy sell to people like me but I'm not sure Sony are doing the right thing to get people interested about the PSPgo. The free games that SCEE are making available is a much better incentive than what SCEA and SCEJ have given their customers, essentially nada.

I'm confused, are you saying that you think they posted this info first or that I was mean to them?

Your a big meanie ! You and all your trophies !
Is the PSPgo! universal or region free like the PS3?

I don't know why but that trophies line reallly made me laugh! It just bothers me when people start a new thread when about 5 or 6 threads down there exists one that was made the previous day.

Yeah all PSPs are region free - be that disc or digital games. However it's a bit more complicated for downloaded games. You can activate the PSP with any PSN account, regardless of region, but only the content bought from/linked to that account will work. So if you want to play something in your US or JPN account you have to activate the PSP with the right account in order to be able to play the content associated with that account. When you're done you deactivate the PSP and activate with another account. It only takes a few seconds to activate or deactivate but you need to connect via the internet (e.g. use either the wifi connection of the PSP, a PS3 or Media Go on a PC.) to do it.

I agree, a search first is always a must !

Rainier Wolfcastle : "On closer inspection, these are loafers"

For the PSPgo!, are they UMD like the PSP or different?

The PSPgo only has the onboard 16GB of memory and a Memory Stick Micro card slot so you can only play games you're downloaded from the PSN store. So whilst your free to download stuff from the IE/UK/US/JPN etc PSN store, you'll end up having to activate and deactivate your PSP depending on which account you want to use.

Heh, I get ya. I just love Motorstorm: AE so much, it's just such a joy to play. That being said, I've been pleasantly surprised by Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines. Whilst I'm having a little bit of trouble with the camera, it's not that bad (I'm looking at you, MSG: Portable Ops), I can tell that I just have to get used to it. I'm actually playing the first Assassin's Creed at the moment on my 360 and I have to say, AC:B is a pretty faithful adaptation of that game to the PSP. Graphics are pretty good (in terms of PSP games of course), Altair controls really well, you can really get a flow going traversing scenery. The levels don't have that many people around so far but I guess that fits in with the story. The combat is great as are the death sequences, so all in all it feels like Assassin's Creed to me, which is the best compliment I can give the game I think. If you liked Assassin's Creed, download Bloodlines for sure (Even more so if you're getting AC2 on PS3 as it unlocks useful stuff in that game apparently). If you didn't, get Motorstorm and wait until you feel like another racer. :pac:
