Changing version of Safari on iPhone ?

    Hi,

I have just purchased an iPhone (through adverts.ie!), and it works perfectly, but there is one issue - the version of Safari I have (3.1.2) is not supported by my college network and, as a result of this, it will not work with the internet (while apps such as facebook and iTunes will).

I was told by the tech people in my college to go download a version of safari called "privately". Can any of you help me out with this please ?

I havent a clue what to do !

The supported version should not matter - is your intranet checking the user agent string?

Sorry, what do you mean by this ?

I had to register the iPhone in order to get approval with to go on the network, and the internet does work on it, just safari freezes on "connecting" whenever I try and connect it here.

To register it on the UCC network I had to provide the iPhones network key, is that what you mean ?

Sorry, I'm a bit slow on the uptake ! Thanks a lot for the help !
