Vodafone Wireless and port forwarding for uTorrent

I have recently downloaded uTorrent 1.8.5 on Windows 7 and am getting speeds of between 2kb/s and 230kb/s on various downloads. I am using Vodafone broadband through the Wireless 3G network running a Huawei 3G extenal modem.

When I look at my uTorrent port 28455 it tells me that it is not forwarded correctly.

I am also running Norton 360 and have done just about everything to try and forward this port.

Do I need to set up a new firewall rule or is there a easier way to achieve this?

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Hi

i am no expert, but i had the same problem and it took me a long time to fix.

1-add UTorrent as an exception in your firewall.
2-go to Portforward.com,have your router model number,it will tell you how to forward the port
3-when you are in utorrent press Ctrl+G together and it will allow you to test if your port is open.
    4-UTorrent also reccomends a specific port-14283

    Hope it helps

    Hi again

forgot to say, turn off your anti-virus while trying all this,it may be your antivirus causing the problem.

    Manually forwarding a port
If UPnP/NAT-PMP is not available or does not work, it will be necessary to forward the port manually. A forwarded port is needed for any P2P client you use, not just µTorrent. Since we want to forward a single port, we need to set the listen port for µTorrent:

To set a single port, navigate to Options > Preferences > Connections
Click "random port" once, and note the port number provided. This will be the port number you will be forwarding in your router. (You may also assign a port number of your choice)
Uncheck "Randomize port each time µTorrent starts." The port number will no longer change each time µTorrent is started.
