The Pub ads on the Radio

I fcuking hate these ads on the radio that have been going on for months and months on end. The ones with Dara O'Brien and some other bimbos rambling on about the pub. Im not sure if it is a Nationwide campaign but it is torture now listening to the radio in Dublin anyway. They go on for ages (sometimes with two different adds in the same add break) - it is like a drill being put to your head (not that I know what that is like - im just guessing that is what it is like). *sigh* it's putting me off the pub more then anything else.

Seriously whoever is behind it - your just infuriating people at this stage.

Dara O'Briain's a bimbo is he?
Is it his bleached blonde hair or bad fake tan?

No I was just mentioning it because I had to endure listening to numerous of these ads in a traffic jam and, seriously, it nearly drove me mad! (pardon the pun)

To be fair though, pubs are struggling immensely at the moment, fair play to them for trying to raise awareness

Well they need to as there's too feckin many of them now in Dublin.
Sure they bought half the culchie pub licenses for big money when they
were getting away with extortion. They tried the illegal price freeze stunt
and were brought to heel for that. DO'B is the last chance for some.
At least they're trying ye, really annoying ads though. I didn't think he'd be
    that stuck for the cash.

Dara O Briain lives in the UK these days. I am sure he couldn't give a **** about these ads. It is a payday afterall.

    Is it Dara O Brien?

Anyhow i kinda like these ads. They are quite funny and cos they take up the whole adbreak I don't have to listen to some other ****e ads

God I can't stand those ads and their stupid scenarios.. We're all gong up the North to buy cheap booze and drinking it in our houses :pac:.. *flips the bird*

I hate the way yer1 says pub aswel... 'Pobb'

I dislike him more than I dislike Dave McSavage and that's saying something. He's a big unfunny twat. The way he closes his eyes and spouts nonsense and laughs at himself makes me want to hurt myself.

He is also another comedian from TD stock.

It sure beats listening to quinn direct or hibernian aviva ads on the radio!

I'd love to go into work the next day having gone on the lash and your boss asks why you were late and you'd say:

"It's ok. Dara O Briain told me to do it"

Well, part of his act is about his parents being politicians I think. Hang on and I'll Wiki it .. :)

Nope, can't find a thing about his folks online. I go to nearly all comedy gigs in Vicar St and The Olympia so maybe I'm mixing up part of his act with another comedian. Someone mentioned their folks were TDs and all through their childhood there would be politicians in and out of their house.

Then they said 'I'd never become a politician .. sure you'd be lying all day and you'd never know when to stop' .. I thought that was Dara .. who the f**k was it .. now my head's wrecked. They were defo Irish.

    Off to Google again ..

Isnt it strange that an ad for pubs would drive you to drink for all the wrong reasons.

Here's a crazy suggestion for the pubs, instead of trying to get the cash strapped punters back to the local via a massively irritating and most likely expensive ad campaign, how about, now this is a crazy one, they LOWER their prices.

I can get 8 can of Carlsberg for €10 in my local off licence, or 1 pint of Carlsberg for €5 in my local (Myo's), now I know which option I'm going for, pubs are trying all sorts of stunts to get people in without lowering the prices (in Myo's case annoying paddywhackery trad music blasting at full volume on Sunday evenings, when people are down for a quiet pint) , which is what everyone wants/needs in order to start going out again.

Want me to go to the pub more often?

    1. Lower the price of drink
    2. Get a decent selection of beers ffs, not just 4 lagers and Guinness
    3. Turn the fcuking music down, I want to talk to my mates, not shout at them
    4. Some seating would be nice
    5. Don't ask me to pay an entrance fee before I even get to the bar

    1. They have.
    2. Most have a couple of German beers, tiger beer, something
    3. Yeah good point but you can find quiet places
    4. Not hard to find seats like it used to be
    5. Agree completely.

Not so long ago my mate and I were turned away from pub on a monday night cause he was wearing runners ?!??! seriously, recession much ?

They sound like they are reading it off the script for the first time.

What pubs NEED to do is stop charging so much for mixers. A short & bottle of coke is around €7, ffs .

In other countries a dash is for free from a soda tap.

I'm off to the boozer to get sh*tfaced.
