Was wondering how many words would you write minimum for an article in the web?

    Totally depends on the article.

Web format tends to be shorter, more bullet points and short cuts, with links if necessary rather than explanations.

What is it you have to do?

If it's a news article, I would tend to keep it succint. Get all the points necessary in there without waffle. If it's a personal opinion article, they vary more: mine tend to be 1,000 - 1,500 words...possibly too long for the average gaming consumer ;D

    Links are very important.

there are companies offering services for 500, 700 or 1000 words, so I was wondering how many are useful? Then I was also thinking if some of those companies are generating text automatically?

    Depends on the topic.
