I got this bike 12 months ago:

It's a great bike, i've tried some other Kelly's bikes and they are all a lovely smooth cycle. I did quite a bit of touring on mine and never had any problems with the gears etc, they're great bikes, and i'd definitly recommend them. They look cool too!

Also, i don't know if it's on the bike you're looking at there, but the lockable front suspension is brilliant on mine. Turn off going up hills to avoid that pogo effect.

The bike will be used for commuting and for bikejoring, its a kellys oxygen.

    (my emphasis)

    Now that's interesting.

Are you planning on doing this competitively? What sort of terrain will you be running over?

Not doing it competitively yet!! Only training our young alaskan huskey, part of a club who meet up for fun and exercise, just looking for a decent bike to start with as old bike is much too heavy.Mainly forest parks and rough ground but will train on roads, getting spare set of wheels with road tyres for that!

According to the link, that Kelly's weighs 13.8kg. That's a lot for a hardtail MTB.

    What's your budget?
