I found Stanza a bit of a let down. They software looks good, but the selection of books is poor.
The searching is messy too, I hate having to search in each store separately.
I was looking for 3 books last week, searched all the stores and only found 1 out of 3 in one shop. For $15.
These wouldn't be rare books, and are quite well known. I actually thought search was broiken, as I expected guttenburg to have them

I tried Wattpad and got one of them for free.

Where is a good place to get free ebooks?

Watt pad is an ebook reader, not an ebook

Wait until CES and see whats on the way before you make up your mind and buy something.

Buying ebooks with an Irish address has become alot more restricted in the last year or so...pain in the arse really.

I eneded up getting the kindle app, setting up a US amazon account, and buying my ebooks through that. They transfer wirelessly to the iphone...bit of a pain to setup, but after that its a breeze..

    Hey folks,

I got the Sony Reader PRS300 for Xmas and just wondering where's the best place to buy books? I usually pay €5 for mine in Tesco's (:D) and so far any books I've found online are much dearer is this usually the case?

    Where do you buy yours?!

With Stanza you're not limited to what's in their online library. Get a book in almost any format, import and convert to EPUB in Calibre, and download it from inside Stanza. Works pretty well.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Yeah, calibre is a great tool. For free and out-of copywright epubs, bookworm is a really useful tool - upload the eBooks and then access them from anywhere including direct to stanza on your iPhone.

Regarding sourcing eBooks, best bet from Ireland is to look at Waterstones, WH Smiths and Directebooks. It can be difficult buying through the US stores - it can be done, but you need to be a bit savvy.
