Are the Irish seen as a laughing stock?

Forget the match as it's been done to death. As has the issue on the replay etc etc

However, watch this vid (1m 30sec mark on) from today and see Blatter manipulate the audience (journos?) into laughing at what the IFA had put to FIFA.

He grimaces and bobs a little as much as to say 'How can you break it to these naive souls' and gets a good laugh.

Is that how we are still seen worldwide. Those funny Irish?

I think he needs a slap to be fair.

He's just an arrogant scumbag to be honest.
...and those with a bit of knowledge, know the Irish have probably the best sense of humor in the world.
Hell, we even take the pee out of ourselves.

He was out of order. F**k the match but he should show some respect and not be talking like this about a 'fair' football playing nation. Unprofessional to say the least.

Well if its true that IFA are pushing for Ireland to be aloud to be the 33rd team in the World cup then Yes.

I mean for Christ sake, we are actually making the English look good in terms of their whining.

Not very professional from Sepp but he's dead right:

    - ask for a replay to make a point was the right thing to do
    - ask to be included as the 33rd team in the World Cup next year!!!.....John Delaney must've been sitting on his brains when he came up with that. An embarrassment.....if it was another country we'd be laughing at them

Folks I apologise but this thread will never escape the shackles of football discussion. As that is barred here with limited exceptions I am now closing this thread. The soccer forum is available and have an ongoing discussion on this and the request from the FAI to take a new place in the world cup in 2010.
http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055755493 is their thread about it.
