    Hi all,

Just got my 3G iphone today from o2. I'm wondering how long it takes before my sim is activated. It currently says no service. I transferred from meteor today. I'm on speakeasy.

    Thanks in advance!

If you ordered the phone online, ring them from your meteor SIM and get them to put it through. It may not get transferred automatically.

If you got it in a shop, they say it takes two hours.

Did u do it on the shop? in that case should be only a few hours, if you did it online and got your phone today you need to post some papers back to them before they do the transfer but if you go to the O2 forum they call you to verify a few details so there's not need to post the papers back to them and the process only takes a few hours.

The admin in the O2Forum are quite helpful with it.

Hi. Yes i purchased it from the shop. They gave me a new sim as i was switching from Meteor on speakeasy. Following setup, and after sticking in the sim, it continuously says activating, this may take some time. This was at 3pm, 9 hours later and still no joy?

    I shall ring them tomorrow.

Did u active the iphone on itunes? is the Meteor SIM still active? Try to put the O2 sim card in another phone and see if it works.

Yes, activated on itunes. The Meteor sim comes up as invalid now. When i put the sim in another phone, it still says no service?

If you bought the unit late in the afternoon, they'll probably set it up tomorrow (around noon most probably). Coz my mom switched from vodafone to o2 and the o2 sim was activated around noon. If they havent activated it by then, just give them a call
