Ok I spillt tea on MBP today, on the keyboard. I mopped it up best I could, turned it upside down immediatly to drip out. Subsequently turned it off, then back on 30 mins later , even connected to power, everything still works, dunno what to do now. Its off now btw please some one help, cause apple basically said I am screwed as did the repair guys.

I would hazard a guess at opening it up and drying inside if possible and/or leaving it in a hot-press or warm area to try and evaporate all the remaining moisture.

This works with phones and some other electronics but maybe wait to hear others opinions before doing anything..

Leave it switched off for a couple of days, somewhere warm and dry as Jev suggested. It might not be a bad idea to take some of the components out too, maybe it would dry more quickly in that case.

Keep the chin up, I know of 2 MBPs that encountered tea spillages and they both survived :)

If its not the unibody MBP, take the keyboard off, wrap it in kitchen towels, and inside a sealed plastic bag, throw it in the hotpress for a day or so.

This should work so long as your not a sugary person :)

If you sugared it too, you can try isopropyl alcohol to flush out the tea/sugar and do the same as above.

Beyond this, prepare to shell out for a new keyboard top ...

If its a unibody, as was said above, remove as much as you can e.g. cd drive/hard drive (MB isnt difficult on it either) and stick it in the hotpress overnight upside down.. i'd say again, wrap up the keyboard area in kitchen towel and inside a plastic, the liquid should evaporate to the towel.

I've saved my MB 3 times like this .. (coffee, alcimahol, and tea).

The worst thing you can do is turn it back on so soon after a spill. As said above, always leave it a few days to dry - just in case. I hope it's okay.

I always have visions of something like this happening anytime I have a liquid near my MBP. I reckon the sight of me cautiously holding a cup of coffee away from it must look pretty comical to observers.
