    Well I heard of soldiers going hard on the drink etc after their years in the army, but this guy beats all. A former Captain in the Parachute Regiment and SAS member has decided to become a woman. Ian Hamilton went through a sex-change operation and now answers to the name of Jan - an elegant, soft-spoken lady ! "I trained with the SAS and went away on operations for two years hoping my desire to become a woman who would disappear."

    And then I always heard that the SAS were super tough macho men with an infallible selection and training programme to weed out any weakness in even the toughest men ? Seems this gives new meaning to Andy Ryan's SAS adventure story The One that Got Away :D

    At least he/she still looks like a dude/ugly woman after the operation- it is seriously difficult to tell sometimes, and that creeps me out.

    On another note, my holiday in Thailand was great.

    I don't swallow all that macho militarily infallible 007 stuff they put out about themselves, it's all boastful self praise and sells books etc. I mean look at claims like Bravo Two Zero has been totally discredited. For all their daring do exploits there was not any Iraqi soldiers who were wounded or whatever to survive and back up their fairy tales. It's stuff that belongs to school boy comics than reality.

    Well Jan ( formerly known as Ian Smith ) wouldn't be able to make a TV programme about it since he/she no longer has balls :)
