    Hello all!

The music gigs took a big leap the other day when I got the chance to shoot the Arctic Monkeys for State.ie. It was amazing. Right in the pit at the front, and the place was packed. You could see everything, without being bashed about in the crowd. The crowd were all swaying and the security were leaping in your way every two seconds to drag a cable or help some eejit in the crowd with their bags. And there I was up the front, giving it loads, like I owned the place! :D

I felt a bit out of place at the start - I was the only one there without a backup camera and without a battery pack, but fair play to the other photographers, they all offered help and really helped calm me down. Even swapped lenses during it. The lights were pretty erratic and the second song was practically lit by strobe only, so it was an instant write off on my behalf. I'm a short-arse too (5,6) so I had my issues with the tall stage, but to be honest I did better than I probably could've hoped for in the circumstances.

That said I can't display the pics here as the O2 had me sign a document saying they could only be displayed on the website/publication they were intended for. So here's a link to the pics in their official place. (Oh, and click the pics there to see their full-size/ratios!)

Here's to many more chances like this!
