Don't seem to enjoy things anymore

    Dear all,
Not sure if this counts as a valid so apologies to any mods if it isn't. Basically, I've noticed that I don't really enjoy doing things I like anymore. I'm a big fan of music, films, reading and TV shows. I don't really play sports because I don't have time between college and work. I used to love a good read/film but now I get nothing from what all my friends call "classics" and it's really annoying me.
    Thanks guys!

Depends really, are you watching what are generally considered "classic" movies, like Casablanca, Citizen Kane etc or what your friends consider "classic"? I have a friend who thinks Happy Gilmore is a classic, but he's kind of an idiot, yet I had to force someone to watch Blade Runner and they hated it, film and music/books etc are all subjective, try branching out and watching foreign or animated movies, you'd be surprised how many amazing movies are out there that dont get shown in the cinema here

Well, I watched Apocalypse Now and Slumdog Millionaire recently. Was watching Dexter season 3 and am reading "Kane and Abel" by Jeffrey Archer. All fail to stir my interest and I know for sure that the last one is well written.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else here.

well it could be just a simple matter of interests changing? Perhaps you have bigger priorities at the moment that are occupying your brain. Like I dont enjoy playing with my toy transformers anymore because im not 7. What I mean by that is that you can have a passion for something but that passion can get lost. I was like that with the guitar, I was obsessed, id spend hours on end on it, but now when I pick one up I get bored quickly.
Sometimes the interests come back again though so I wouldnt panic.

There could also be another thing causing this, and thats a mild form of depression. A very common symptom is losing interest in everything. But going down that road is another extreme level altogether , and no one here is in a position to diagnose you.

I haven't got much advice but if you're looking for a name for it, try Anhedonia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anhedonia . It might help you find some interesting google results at least.
