Airbag light BMW

    the airbag light came on in my car today ,its stayin on the whole time. do i need to bring it to a dealer to get it checked. is it a serious problem. my car is 06 bmw 320 is it expensive??????

    My advice would be to take it to an independent BMW specialist (post your location to get recommendations). They will have the diagnostic gear to narrow it down - could be one of a huge number of things. Could be as simple as a failed connector.

    The most common faults I know of are the connector for the seatbelt pre-tensioners (wire under each of the front seats), and the passenger occupancy sensor (mat under the fabric of the passenger seat).

    No, your car isn't expensive :D

    Seriously though, it's probably the underseat connections that have been pulled loose by you moving the seat or something. You don't need to go to a dealer, a good BMW independant or anyone will be able to sort the problem for you, it's a very common car. Shouldn't be too expensive. Someone else will give a few garage recommendations.

    new shape bmw e60/ e90 dont suffer with seatbelt pretensioner sensors anymore, unlike the old e46 models. More then likely battery voltage level dropped which can cause airbag light to come especially now in winter.
