Saw her on "Have I got New For You" a couple of times so decided to try it. Watched about 5 minutes of the first episode and that was at a push. Dire!

I've watched a few of these now and to begin with I thought "How bad is this" it has worn me down though and I think it's pretty funny actually

Bizarrely, I find it funny and dreadfully unfunny at the same time. I reckon the humour is solid but the execution is dross...
She is certainly not one of life's most attractive-looking ladies, if truth be told. But its all about the personality, right?

She isn't a looker but she knows that, hence all the self deprecating humour. I think the series has got better and Sarah Hadland is cute! :)

Miranda is harmless but fun. I heard the radio version of the show on BBC a few years ago before her looks were even evident and the humor was good, much of it based on her being single and not that eligable! Fair play to her. There's much worse out there.

My God this woman is woeful!:(.Poor Bear Grylls had to endure her one time on a survival location in the snow capped mountains somewhere last year, or the year before I think.

Totally ****e and so not funny.....

Its a classic old style sitcom

Right down to addressing the audience.

Bear Grylls the survival man who stays in hotels once the cameras turn off. There's a spoofer if ever there was one.

It states at the start of each episode that he gets help and sometimes doesn't stay overnight. Besides i think some of the claims are grossly exaggerated

Miranda is harmless enough, not my cup of tea and wouldn't consider her on a par with the comedians she's clearly riffing off, but am heartened to see her at least try to keep the old flames burning. She has a great fondness for the comedic styling of people like Eric Sykes and the frankly peerless Morecambe and Wise (she did a very interesting documentary about these two and her love for them was clear & genuine throughout), and it's nice that modern comedians don't consider themselves too good for the old sitcom formula. Her material comes off as a bit too knowing and post-modern sometimes, which always prevents me enjoying any of the episodes.

I don't think comparisons with O'Carroll are fair or relevant as while they're both using bygone comedy as templates, Miranda's would be the more 'innocent' variety like the above legends, whereas O'Carroll seems to be channelling the spirit of Dick Emery and the like, aiming for a much bawdier, cruder formula. They all came from the vaudeville circuit all right, but from very different angles :)
