Apart from the nice aerial shots of the flying caravan I have to say that this was an awful episode of Top Gear.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,354 ✭✭✭cjmcork

it was pretty dire............Chris Evans was the only redeeming feature..........

Thought it was a good episode.

The lancia feature was great and Chris Evans was actually watchable compared to most stars.

The news seemed a bit lacking this week.

The stratos lap was hilarious though.

All in all it was good and roll on topgear live :)

I have to agree....Chris brought a bit of life to the show.... on another note does anybody know how they make the lights stay on the cars on the set?? surely they can't leave the key in them all the time as this would probably run down the batteries....??

It would hardly matter if the batteries ran down!

The Lancia feature was exellent, as was Evans a proper car nut. Loved the piano gag on the Morris Marina.

Yes, this was better than the rubbish we've had so far.

Decent banter and no over reliance on smut with some motor antics thrown into the mix. The Lancia piece was good...even if it was a little scripted it was very obvious that the whole thing was meant with much affection and was ultimately enjoyable.

    Average at best.

Loved James May's piece with the caravan airship very funny...especially when he drifted over to Norwich airport and got in the way of jets wanting to land and take off.

    That was priceless.

Enjoyed this weeks episode much more than last weeks which was crap to be frank. The Lancia piece was excellent, the sound from the Fulvia was amazing.

    +1

    Lancia bit was great.

    Stratos - What a car!

Pity there was no pictures of Chris' garage, would have been some sight.

Repeated on BBC3 on Friday and Saturday nights. I thought that last nights episode was the best of the season, however I do think the format is getting a little tired, and they do need to work on some fresh ideas.

Staged and at different times and on different days :( Sadly Top Gear jokes are becoming "wait for it to happen affairs" They used be genuinely funny and good. They're now all scripted and fairly obviously at that.

    Good program none the less.

Also usually repeated on Wednesday evening on BBC2, 7pm I think.

Big improvement on last week. I really liked James antics in the caravan airship. The Lancia bit was good, they did make some fantastic cars. Chris was a good guest. The news this week didn't seem that scripted at all.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,399 ✭✭✭✭r3nu4l

The airship bit was very funny...but pointless
    The Lambo bit was uninteresting
The Lancia bit was interesting to watch and fun as well, top marks
Chris Evans was good (even if I don't like the guy!!)

Overall, enjoyable but Top Gear is becoming mundane with the scripting too predictable in parts. Although the piano drop did happen at an unexpected moment and that made it funny, overall It would have been better if they had just left it when they explained why they had the piano on the marina roof at the start!

Am I going a bit mad or did they not give the Balboni to the Stig for a lap?
