I would love some advise please!

My parked car was recently crashed into from behind and pushed into my boyfriends also parked car!so they were both damaged. My car was badly damaged in the rear (bumper, axel, wheel, lights) side (the side panel crumpled a bit) and front (bumper) because of this!:(

My question/concern the is insurance company (not mine the person who crashed into us) are telling me that the axel snapped off and that the garage are going to weld it back on:confused:. Is this totally safe? I don't know much/anything about cars but I would rather write it off than have it cause me problems in the future!

I'd appreciate any advise :), Thanks

Wouldnt trust a welded axel :S

Go to a breakers and get a quote for one then send it on to your insurance company, or else quote a new one from whatever car dealer your car is and forward that to the person that hit you.

No way should the axle be welded. tell them they must be joking and Insist on a new one.

    this sounds really strange
what type of car is it
the idea of the repair should be to return you car to the same condition it was pre accident ,
    this is not good enough

    Welded axles do fail!

My brothers gf was driving a car with a welded axle which after around 14,000 or so it failed on a motorway
