Ongoing connection issues with Westnet.

    Hello.

Due to Eircom's inability to provide the greater Newport area (as so many others) with Broadband, we have a Westnet connection. Usually it has been operating rather well but for the past four days now we have SEVERE connection issues.

We live about a mile outside of Newport but as mentioned before, the connection was usually stable.

I just did a speedcheck and it came back as this (during the test we had one PC on the net and no other applications running):

One of the main reasons why we have Broadband is that most in our family enjoy playing various online games. Asking around with other players has confirmed that the latency issues we are experiencing are not on the company's servers.

We usually have a playing lag of 50 to 90. In the past four days however we have had a lag of 1500 to 3900 making it pretty impossible to do what we got a broadband connection for in the first place. Therefore they must have to do with our connection. The speedtest has pretty much confirmed the problem being on our end of it as well. Making sure it is a PC issue we have tried it with a few of our families PCs as well as a friend's laptop. The speed is also slow no matter if we are on the net with only one PC.

Anyone else in the Newport area have issues with their connection?
