Hi just wondering if anyone knows of a good session in the East Meath/ Nth Co Dublin area that welcomes new musicians. Or alternatively would anybody be interested in setting up an acoustic 2/3 piece playing covers. Been playing acoustic guitar and learning songs now for a couple of years as a hobby but getting a bit bored playing to myself at home to be honest. Mostly do folk songs with a bit of pop ( Bob Dylan, Neil Young, John Spillane, Christy Moore, Tom Waits, Sufjan Stephens to name but a few ) just good songs really that I wouldn't mind hearing if I was having a pint. Only ever really played for other people at the odd party here and there so I thought I'd try and branch out a bit and see if I can hack it. Think I'm an ok singer if a bit quiet but wouldn't be blasting anyone out of it with this stuff anyway. Anyway any advice would also be very welcome. Do people think that pub goers would be interested in this kind of an act?
    TIA

allright mate just read your post there. im in a similiar situation myself. playing the acoustic guitar for about 2 years and wouldnt mind tryin something different. into loads of different types of music, liked some of your influences, into playing anything that sounds good, not really a great singer either but might be able to try backing vocals or something, im from meath by the way and generally live between meath and drumcondra in dublin depending on the week, wouldnt have a place to practice im afraid. also if it matters, im 29 and turning 30 in a weeks time and its as every bit a ****e as i thought it would be, anyway let us know what you think,
    patrick.
