Ex poker player needs the dole

    Hi,
I was hoping to find some advice here. I played poker professionally for a few years. Now I'm pretty much done with the game, at least done with depending on it for a living, I want to move on to other things and all that.

In the mean time I'm out of work and need to turn to the dole unfortunately, as a temporary stepping stone. I have an appointment made, where I'll have to tell them what I've been up to for the past while and what my situation is.

My question is, what will my position be by telling them about my living off of poker? I'm not posting this to try and trick the system and besides I know that that kind of advice is not allowed here. I'm just hoping to hear from others who may have been in a similar situation or know something about it.

    Any advice appreciated
