Don't recall seeing this mentioned in past "compact vs triple vs wide cassette" debates.
For 2010, Campy kicks it up again with 12-29 cassette cogs for the 11-speed groups, with the added benefit of easy rear derailleur compatibility.

    Chorus version in Feb 2010.

Irritatingly, they don't specify all the teeth numbers, and I can't be bothered to count.

    edit: found on CC

    The 11-23 includes- 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,21,23
    The 11-25 includes- 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,19,21,23,25
    The 12-25 includes- 12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,21,23,25
    The 12-27 includes- 12,13,14,15,16,17,19,21,23,25,27
    The 12-29 includes- 12,13,14,15,16,17,19,21,23,26,29

Comparing the biggest % gap to the 10 speed alternatives:

    21-24 on Shimano/SRAM 12-27 is 14% gap.
23-26 on Campy 12-29 (or SRAM 12-26) is 13% gap.

So the 12-29 is essentially the SRAM 12-26 with the addition of a 29t bailout gear, and has both wider range and smaller gaps than a 12-27.

16 I presume. I'm so bored, I read them all

Campagnolo have always had a 29T option albeit when 10 speed obviously the gaps would be greater. To be honest gaps concern me very little, it is rare as it is that I only shift up or down only a single gear.

So what happens when somebody jumps you on a climb (assuming your already in the big ring ;))

Generally, up the cadence, as my effective cadence range would be much greater than any gap between gears. I don't think any failure to stay with Raam on a climb could be attributed to the gaps in my gearing :)
