Something to Consider

We have all heard about this "catholic church abuse".

Everyone is now of the opinion that in the past the catholic church ran the country, that they covered everything up with the help of those in positions of power. Now many believe that we need to "secularise" Irish society.

Now consider this, do you not think that the present government are lying to you and covering up many other issues?

It strikes of hypocrisy for any of you to criticise the catholic church, if you were born in that era you would have believed everything they said, and you lot would have struck down hard on anyone who even broached the subject of child abuse. You would have said "you wacko, you'll rot in hell" and so on.

There are people now who are dealing with explosive topics, and the masses are shouting them down, just as the masses shouted down those who when against the church child abuse in the past.

    Can you get my point?

No, there are other threads where the masses jump on the bandwagon as they always do on every topic.

Your point is that it's ironic how most of the population would have jumped on the pro-church bandwagon but now they jump on the anti-church bandwagon.
    That's deep man!!!!!!!!

So, you think that the present government needed to cover up some terrible act, and they came up with the systematic rape and abuse of children by priests as the cover story?

No, you see the people believed what they said because they trusted them. Then it was found that the Catholic Church had blatantly defiled that trust and raped and abused children.

Strangely familiar rhetoric for somebody with only 6 posts. Suspicious even.
That notwithstanding URL is correct. There are other threads on this. Please stick to them.
