    Hi guys,
Have been cycling a few months now and enjoy it immensely. However this past week Ive had 3 punctures, 2 of them this morning. Ok there was a small tear in the tyre which was the cause of the 2 of them this morning. My bike went into the shop today for a few teething problems and explained my unlucky streak this week. He said he would throw on a winter tyre which I duly agreed. Just wondering what is the difference and what is the life expectancy of a winter tyre (or god forbid he was having me on).

    Cheers

Generally a "winter" tyre will emphasise the likes of puncture protection over light weight, ride quality and often unfortunately grip. A good one you should get many thousand km out of, they tend to last longer than "summer" tyres which are softer.
