Can you point us to the relevant page on the ukfree.tv website? That link you gave is to a photo sharing website, don't see how it's 'worth a thousand words', doesn't say anything to me.

    From ukfree.tv, Divis transmitter section

Means there will be lots of service interruptions and periods of reduce power for next two years.
I read here on Boards.ie that a Group A aerial could be used to pick up Divis. Analogue and not digital I presume. It says on the official UK transmitter page that a group k or wideband aerial is needed to receive all of the channels. My Dad lives in Trim, could his aerial be possibly a large wideband yagi or unix type wideband or an old Group A? How does one tell the difference of which type of aerial one is? By different lengths of elements along the boom or the frequency group of the masthead amp? His masthead amp boxes are red. Could it be the Fringe type amps that he has with poor shielding? It was installed in 1986. I'm sure that he could do with all new equipment by now. He only receives one or two muxes in fine weather from the North probably due to it being very low power up to now. Probably Divis or Kilkeel. What aerial should he get to receive all of the muxes when they are available? A wideband Fracarro with the highest gain in the front and back ratios and a switchable FTE Maximal with switchable gain from 26, 34 and 40dB? He probably will only need a low noise figure 26dB Masthead amp after Divis full DSO. I bought him the Sagem ITD 81 in Newry at the end of September so that he could receive the Irish DTT. Great picture, but freezes after several hours when over heating. I will raise my Sagem with probably a little bluetack underneath each leg and advise him to do the same or similar as I told him last week to turn it to standby and pull out the plug and reboot the box so that the picture stops breaking up and freezing. It works for me. Any suggestions people for all of these number of questions please guys? How many muxes are available from Divis at the moment in Trim anyway? I will let my Dad know what I learn from this. I could also ask him to ring the original installer of his aerials who lives in Trim to find out what equipment that he already has. A Group B aerial is needed for Kilkeel DSO.

And scroll to ukfree.tv, go to the transmitters section, select Divis on the map and read the thread. A 30 second search on google btw. The new mast will be going up next year.

I'll take your word for it but I can't see any 'Transmitters' section on the ukfree.tv website and searching for 'DSO and Divis' on Google brings you straight back here!

Can anyone confirm if the power for the Analog stations from Divis has been reduced over the past few months ? Or on any specific channels ?

My masthead amp blew (Triax TA34) during the summer and after replacing with another TA34, the pictures were not as clear as they previously were. It did take me about a month to get around to getting a new box and so I had no way of knowing if something had changed in the interim.

    Anyone any ideas ?

BBC ONE (C31) and BBC TWO (C27) are suffering from a weak picture for me and have been the last few weeks. UTV (24) Channel 4 (21) and FIVE (37) arefine although FIVE has always been more grainy than the others due to the low signal anyway. MUX 2 (C33) is next to impossible for me to receive here. Was fine for a while but thanks to the mast work it is gone and presumably won't be coming back for another 3/4 years... :(

Strangely my Channel 4 on analogue (Divis) has started to show black bars on the screen (4:3 format) even when adverts are being shown! This has only happened recently as before picture filled the full screen whether programme was broadcast in widescreen or not. This has happened on both TV's in my house. Probably nothing to do with Divis DSO but has anyone else experienced this?

What do you mean 'black bars' on analogue. Do you mean 16:9 programmes are shown in 4:3 letterboxed? They do this more and more regularly now with certain programmes and also do it for all their films, but I've never known them to broadcast their ads in 4:3 letterboxed.

There was an error not long ago from Divis where the Channel 4 picture was zoomed to 16:9 on analogue for all 4:3 content so everything looked really close to the screen and the sides were cut off, but that seems to have been fixed now.

Are the two TV's you have the same make and model? Is this happening only on Channel 4 analogue? I watched some Channel 4 analogue this morning before leaving for work and the picture seemed fine, it was 4:3 (old episode of Will & Grace) and filled the screen (which I hate and would rather have it pillarboxed but everyone else in the house hates that so the majority wins :()

Nothing more irritating than dead links, especially since the link is the key to your story.

Answer to your queries: (1) Adverts now shown in 4:3 format as well as certain programmes which I presume were filmed in 4:3. This has only happened recently on analogue C4.
    (2) One TV is 26 inch Sharp and other is 20 inch Sony Bravia. Both are correctly set to 'auto' for picture ratio.
    3) This is happening only on C4 analogue as Sky/Freeview have adverts in widescreen on C4.
