Shaving advice?

I would like to try a new start so shaving the mach 3 and gillete gel with some crappy aftershave is not doing the trick anymore.

I was looking into buying this kit as it sounds and has been reviewed as one of the best.

What about a razor though? On there a blade razor that uses mach3 razors for refills costs $150!!! What would be the difference?
I heard electric razors aren't good in the long run.

Any advice? sometimes i get ingrown hairs and red dots :(

I have not tried that set, but what I found prevents irritation was to shave in the direction of the hair, not against it, it'd be no harm to try rather than shelling out for a kit.

I dumped Gillette gels and foams years ago in favour of this stuff... Best thing I ever did, no irritation, its translucent and a little goes a long way. I still use Gilette blades, sensor excel. A good enough combination I think.

OP try a good shaving soap or cream with a decent brush, they last ages, had a tub of soap that lasted months. it'll give a great lather and your face will feel fresh after it. way better than the gels and foams i find.

I agree absolutely. I used a brush and good soap with a Fusion for some time and the result was far better than with one of those gels. Good selection available at www.shaving.ie whom I can recommend for excellent pricing and service (I have no connection with them except as a satisfied customer).

However I switched to a traditional safety razor with double-edged blade some months ago and am getting far better results. Straight razor next .
